A tandem paragliding flight from Mount Pilatus is easy to plan and clearly structured. To help you feel prepared, here are the steps from the meeting point to the landing. These details show how your paragliding experience in Lucerne works and what you need for the day of your flight.

The evening before (by 20:00), you will receive the exact meeting time and location. This way you’ll know early how your tandem paragliding flight from Pilatus will begin. The schedule depends on weather and wind conditions, which determine the safest and most comfortable time for your flight. The message will also include directions, so you can plan your paragliding day in Lucerne with ease.

We take the Pilatus Railway together to the launch site. The ride up the mountain is part of the experience. The views of Lucerne and Lake Lucerne set the mood for your flight. You purchase your ticket directly at the valley station or online. The ride takes only a few minutes and brings you to the starting point of your paragliding flight.

Once we arrive at the launch site, you’ll receive a calm and simple introduction. You’ll learn how the take-off works, how to behave during your paragliding flight from Pilatus, and how we will start together. The briefing only takes a few minutes and no prior experience is needed. Every step is clearly explained, making your tandem flight in Lucerne safe and comfortable.

The take-off run takes only a few steps. You lean slightly forward while I control the wing and guide the launch. After a short moment we lift off. The transition from the ground into the air is calm and smooth. Many guests are surprised by how gentle it feels. From there, your paragliding flight from Pilatus begins, gliding above Lucerne and Lake Lucerne.

Once we are in the air, we glide over the landscape of Central Switzerland. You’ll see Lucerne, Lake Lucerne, the Alpine range and the rocky cliffs of Mount Pilatus. With good thermals we may climb higher, making your paragliding experience in Lucerne even more impressive. You can sit back and enjoy the view. If you like, we can keep the flight calm or add a bit more dynamic movement – the flight adapts to your preference.

For the landing, I will give you a few simple instructions. We will then land smoothly near the Pilatus railway station or next to the Allmend area.

You can look forward to a calm and impressive experience. Mount Pilatus offers ideal conditions for paragliding in Lucerne with stunning views of the city, Lake Lucerne and the surrounding Alps. Before the tandem flight, you’ll receive clear information about the process, clothing and meeting point. The flight is smooth and perfect even for first-time flyers.

The evening before, you will receive the exact meeting time and location. We then take the mountain cable car to the launch site on Mount Pilatus. After a short briefing, we take off with a few steps and glide calmly over Lucerne and Lake Lucerne. The whole experience takes about two hours, while the flight time depends on wind and thermal conditions.

You can bring a companion to the launch site or the landing area. However, the distance between the two locations is often quite large. Your companion therefore needs to decide whether they prefer to watch the take-off or the landing, as seeing both is usually not possible.

Sturdy shoes are important. Hiking boots or solid sports shoes are ideal. It is usually cooler in the air than on the ground, so dress a little warmer than you would for a hike. A windproof jacket is always recommended. On colder days, windproof pants and gloves are helpful. Sunglasses are also a good idea so you can enjoy the views without glare.

I take passengers with a maximum weight of 95 kg.

I offer tandem flights from Mount Pilatus for guests from about six years old. There is no fixed upper age limit. The most important requirement is that you can take a few quick steps for take-off. Children use a special harness, and guests under 18 need written permission from their parents.

No. You don’t need any paragliding experience. I explain everything in simple steps, and the whole process is designed so that you feel comfortable right away.

Yes. Paragliding in Switzerland is strictly regulated. I am a certified SHV tandem pilot and follow all regulations of the association. The equipment is regularly inspected and maintained, and flights only take place in stable and safe conditions.

As with any outdoor activity, a small residual risk can never be completely excluded. That is why I carefully check wind and weather conditions before every flight. If the conditions are not suitable on the day of your flight, we will simply reschedule the paragliding flight from Mount Pilatus.

The meeting point will be communicated to you the evening before. From there, we take the mountain railway together to the launch site on Mount Pilatus. You can buy the ticket directly on site or online.
